The MacArthur Landing Memorial National Park in Red Beach, Palo, marks the American liberation forces landing. It also has a lagoon where the life-size statues of Gen. MacArthur stands albeit the true landing General McArthur set foot takes place on Dulag, Leyte.

Remnants of M/V Eva Jocelyn from Basey, Samar, washed ashore in Barangay Anibong of Tacloban, Leyte during the onslaught of the typhoon. The monument is meant to commemorate the victims of the typhoon Yolanda.
